VITO FindMe allows you to request the location of your friends via SMS. Simply install the free software on to your Windows Mobile Pocket PC device.

You can then set a personal 'code word' that your friends can send to you via SMS. They'll then get a reply via Text Message including details on your location. This can then be used with Google Maps to allow them to see your current location.

The uses of such an application are endless. The first idea allows a Taxi firm to locate the closest Taxi Driver to the next pick up. The Operator simply requests their drives location without the driver having to take their hands of the steering wheel and retrieve their location. The only requirements are Windows Mobile 2003(SE)/ 5.0/ 6.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition with built-in GPS receiver such as the HTC P3300 or and external Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Sending the request Test Message is billed to the sending at the standard network SMS rates. The reply is then billed to yourself, again at the standard network SMS rate.
