    What is the Touch Cruise?

    Hi

Excuse my ignorance: What do you call the Touch Cruise?  Is it a SmartPhone, a Mobile Phone, a PDA Phone or what?  When I'm looking at software for it which OS do I consider- Windows Mobile PC or Windows Smartphone?  Or just WM 6?

     Thanks

    Brian

Re: What is the Touch Cruise?

A Smartphone should run Windows Mobile for Smartphone. This will not have a touchscreen.

Devices with touchscreens that also have integral mobile telephones are known as PDA Phones but more specifically or commonly Pocket PC's, abbreviated to PPC, and normally run Windows Mobile.

The Touch Cruise is a PPC. You will notice our www.devicewire.co.uk webiste is split into sections, Pocket PCs/PDAs and Smartphones, to keep the Smartphones away from the PPCs to make sure customers get the device they want.

You will find most Windows Mobile 5 and 6 software is designed for PPC's with touchscreens, so is not suitable for Smartphones with their non-touch displays.

Really, it is the Smartphone owners who have to be careful with the software they buy ensuring compatibility, not the touchscreen PPC owners

    Ivan
