I'm looking at getting a USB modem for my laptop because I cannot use th PCMCIA slot, is the Huawei worth getting and what is the maximum bandwidth?

The Huawei USB Modem can handle speeds of upto 1.8Mbps assuming you are in a HSDPA area, the advantage of the Huawei is that it can be used for desktop PC's and because it is USB it is compatible for all PC's and Laptops with a USB connection. Also the device is a pure plug and play device and doesn't require installation.

 From the above reply, I take it that you are fimiliar with the Huawei E220 Modems. I am looking for a number of these modems to satisfy a current requirement for 500 for one of my customers. The manufacturer seem to have a problem with availability. Can you confirm whether there are any other resources or supply chanels that one could use to find stock of the said modem.
