Configuring the Novatel Ovation for Internet access
Insert your 3G-enabled SIM card correctly into the Ovation.
Connect the Ethernet port to a PC or laptop using the crossover cable provided.
Power on the unit.
Wait for a few seconds while the unit boots and registers on the cellular network.
On the PC launch an Internet browser and browse to the default IP address for the unit (http://192.168.0.1/).
A pop up window will be displayed prompting you to enter a username and password. The default details are:
Username: admin
Password: password

Enter the login details and click OK. The following window will be displayed:

Click Next. The following window will be displayed:

You will be prompted to enter the APN (Access Point Name) for your cellular network:
Vodafone internet
Orange orangeinternet
O2 mobile.o2.co.uk
T-Mobile general.t-mobile.uk
as well as a username and password:
Vodafone “web” for both
Orange leave blank
O2 “web” for both
T-Mobile general.t-mobile.uk
Once all of the correct details have been entered, click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Enter the name for the wireless network that wish to be broadcast to wireless clients and click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Configure the IP address and Subnet mask you wish the unit to have.
Specify whether you wish the unit to act as a DHCP server or not and configure the lease address range.
Click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Review your settings and click Finish. The router will not restart automatically and a progress window will be displayed:

You will be notified when the router has restarted:

Click OK. The following window will be displayed:

To initiate the Internet connection, click the Connect button.
To alter the Internet connection settings, click on Tools in the bottom right hand corner, and then select the UMTS Conn tab. The following window will be displayed:
