Configuring the Option GlobeSurfer II for Internet access
Insert your 3G-enabled SIM card correctly into the side of the unit.
Connect the Ethernet port to a PC or laptop using the crossover cable provided.
Power on the unit.
Wait for a few seconds while the unit boots and registers on the cellular network.
On the PC, launch an Internet browser and browse to the default IP address for the unit (http://192.168.1.1/)
If this is the first time you are connecting to the unit, the following window will be displayed:

Select your desired language and enter a password for the administrator account used to alter settings on the GlobeSurfer II in the future.
Click OK. The following window will be displayed:

Click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Select the desired telephony standard for your region. If you are not sure what setting to select, leave the default values selected. Click Next, the following window will be displayed:

Enter the correct Access Point Name (APN) for your network operator:
Vodafone internet
Orange orangeinternet
O2 mobile.o2.co.uk
T-Mobile general.t-mobile.uk
Three three.co.uk
Select your connectivity settings and click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Enter an SSID for the device. The SSID is the name of the wireless access point that will be presented to wireless client devices. Select whether you wish the SSID to broadcast, or you wish the access point to be hidden.
Click Next, the following window will be displayed:

Specify whether you wish the wireless connection be encrypted. Click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Select your desired security level (this can be altered at a later stage). Click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Review your configuration choices and click Finish. You will receive a prompt informing you that the unit may need to be rebooted. Click OK.
The GlobeSurfer will now reset itself. After a few moments you will be returned to the login screen. Log in using the administrator password you specified earlier. The following window will be displayed:

Click on the Connection Settings button. The following window will be displayed:

Click on the Network Connections icon. The following window will be displayed:

Click on the Edit button to the right of the WAN Cellular connection entry. The following window will be displayed:

Click on the Settings button. The following window will be displayed:

If your service provider requires a username and password, enter them here:
Vodafone use ‘web’ for both
Orange leave blank
O2 use ‘web’ for both
T-Mobile leave blank
Three leave blank
Click OK.
Your connection has now been configured.
